TITLE=Sandhill Crane Morning Flight 1
Fast shutter speed and accurate tracking are required to follow a bird at take-off. This image was a few seconds after leaving the water. The fast shutter resulted in no motion blur, as shownm in the enlargement below. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

Canon D60 camera, 700mm f/5.6 (500 mm f/4 IS lens +1.4x TC), 1/1500 sec at ISO 400. This is 1120 mm equivalent focal length on 35mm. This is a full frame image with no crop.
