This sample was collected from the northern end of the western alteration center at Cuprite, NV. Sample was collected from unaltered lower Cambrian Harkless Phyllite.

SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:
The spectrum has absorptions characteristic of muscovite with the 1st OH overtone at 1.4120 microns and Al-OH combination band at 2.2070 microns. Bands in the electronic region (0.35- 1.35 microns) indicate that the sample is probably coated with goethite.
