Alligator gets an Egret, Venice Rookery, Florida, April 15, 2003.

A young egret is out if its nest. In struggling to get back up to the nest, works closer and closer to the water. Then an alligator gets it. Images were done with a 500 mm, f/4 lens. The first at 500 mm, the last three at 700 mm (500 + 1.4 TC) f/5.6, 1/500 sec at ISO 400, -1 stop. Canon 10D camera.
