The Moon has a close pass (a conjunction) by Jupiter in our sky, January 21, 2012.
Technical. Canon 1D Mark IV 16-megapixel digital camera, Canon 500 mm f/4 L IS lens + 2x TC, ISO 400, f/9. High dynamic range exposure: Moon + Jupiter = 1/200 second, Jupiter's moon and the star: 1/20 second. Seeing was very poor with a lot of turbulence. This image is about half the full size image.
