The moon rises over the city of Denver, behind the Qwest building. To the left on the horizon are the tent spires for the main terminal of the Denver International Airport (DIA). The Qwest building was just under 9 miles away and DIA was 27 miles away.
Technical. Canon 1D Mark IV 16-megapixel digital camera, 300 mm f/2.8 telephoto lens + 1.4x TC giving 420 mm at f/4. Exposure was 0.6 second at f/6.3, ISO 200. Mirror lockup on a tripod. Full image, no crop.
