Brown Bear Foot Closeup, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, 2021 #4C3A6580

Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, is a very remote park accessible only by aircraft or boat. It became a National Park in 1980. The Brown Bears in Lake Clark National Park are numerous so it is easy to get great images of them along the coast.

A femaale brown bear with cubs suddenly approached. Rather than moving fast which might spook her, we looked down not making eye contact and very still. My hand was on the camera and finger on the shutter, enabling this photo. The bear was at 9.76 meters (32 feet).

Technical. Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Digital Camera, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens at 400.0 mm, exposure= 1/800 second, f/8.0, ISO 400
