Sunset from Oia, Santorini, Greece. The mountain to the left is Mount Profitis Elias (748 m) on the island of Milos (50 miles; 80 km away). Milos is where the statue of Venus was discovered. The mountains on the right are on the island of Folegandros (26 miles; 42 km away).
Technical. Canon 5D Mark II 21 megapixel digital camera, 70-200 mm f/4 L IS lens at 200 mm. ISO 200, 1/15 second at f/4. This is a 3-frame mosaic done hand held from my dinner table. Final image size is 3669 x 9027 pixels. Note: this is a case where the web sRGB image has the red channel saturated due to the smaller color space. The original Adobe RGB image is not saturated. This image was obtained 18 minutes after sunset, when the colors were most intense.
