Cranes Preparing to Take-Off

These cranes were preparing to take off. They stretch their necks relatively straight and look around to see if others are ready to go with them. A full resolution example is shown below. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

Technical: Canon D60 camera, 500 mm f/4 IS lens at f/5.6, 1/2000 sec at ISO 400. This image is a mosaic of two frames to show the whole group. The image is full frame, no crop.
