Sandhill Crane head on in flight with wing stall

This crane had just taken off and was banking. The raised feathers on the wing shows the wing is stalling, but the bird finished the turn and gracefully headed on its way. A fast shutter speed froze the action, as shown by the enlargement, below. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

Technical: Canon D60 camera, 700mm f/5.6 (500 mm f/4 IS lens +1.4x TC), 1/3000 sec at ISO 400. This is the full image with no crop.
